Tips on Selling Your Old Gear on eBay

Is that junk in your garage or living room stressing you out? Stress less. Selling your items on eBay is not real science, but you can do a few things to speed up your selling processes. When reselling, time is money and therefore you have to do something to encourage faster sales. Here are a few tips to help you sell faster on eBay.

–  Optimize for search

Your furniture pieces can be of great quality, but no one will purchase them if they are hard to find. Design every listing around eBay SEO for more sales. Match your furniture pieces to the existing ones on eBay catalogue when possible. Include numerous quality photos and describe the items properly. Ensure that everything is accurate because irrelevant keywords, photos, and descriptions will destroy your search rankings. When possible, use relevant keywords in the title and categorize the item correctly.

–  Offer more payment options

Most sellers offer PayPal as the only option. PayPal allows buyers to use their credit cards when making purchases and that is one of its benefits. However, to increase your sales, by increasing your payment options. You should also start accepting money orders and checks to boost the bids and final purchase prices. Remember to state that there will be delays allowing clearing of the checks. That will protect you from check frauds. When accepting money orders, you should only accept payments from other countries.

–  Take many clear photos

The buyer should see the item you are selling clearly to eliminate confusion during the selling process. eBay recommends the use of 8-12 clear photos per every listing so that the buyers can see every side of the items and the details. You should also designate one photo as the gallery photo and will function as the photo that buyers see after searching for your item. The objective of having outstanding photos is to make your items appear superior to those of your competitors. If you have a quality camera, you do not have to get professional help.

–  Price low but not lowest

When priced very low, your item will appear a no-brainer for the bargain hunters. However, a low price can highly affect your search engine rankings. Even more, some of the competitors will drop their price to lower and hurt your profits. Setting a lower price is always good, but do not set the price as one of the lowest on eBay.

–  Use psychological pricing

When pricing your items on eBay, focus on making high profits. When speed is a top priority, only psychological pricing will work perfectly. If you have already enabled Best Offer, list the pricing at multiples of $100 to sell faster. Your items will receive low offers compared with the specifically priced ones, but you will most likely sell them within a week or two. The chances of going unnoticed will be very low.

–  Go global

By casting your net wider, your odds of catching more fish will be better. Never limit your selling to your country solely. eBay eliminates the paperwork and stress without charging you any amount but you should expect high PayPal fees. Going global is important when selling items that are out of fashion in your area. It can be hard to sell old skis during summer in Australia, but at that time, the United States is usually in the hot summer months. Use eBay’s Global Shipping Program and you are likely to get more offers where people were not interested before.

–  Prioritize on the feedback score

eBay customers will use your feedback score when judging. They have to ensure that your transactions have been smooth, and the negative feedbacks are minimal. If you want to sell faster‚ but not today’s start building up the feedback score. By looking reliable, the buyer resistance will highly fall, and more viewers will convert faster. If you have not been selling on the platform, start by making low-cost purchases and providing sellers with positive feedback. They will be willing to give positive feedback in return. That will influence more buyers to purchase from you comfortably.

–  Avoid the auto-decline feature

After setting up a threshold for the auto decline feature, eBay will not notify you about any offer below the threshold’s including offers that are only one cent below your threshold. Remain in a good position to counteroffers. A buyer might be testing you to see whether you have set the auto-decline. Remember to discount furniture for sale online in Australia.

Did you know that your customer services on eBay would affect your search rankings? As you speed up your sales, the customer requests and questions will increase too. You have to speed up every response to eBay messages to reduce the chances of reduced sales.
